Project description: The task.

Design and manufacture of a 200 litre stirring vessel for sterile suspensions. The possible filling volume must not fall below a specified minimum size. The maximum external dimensions of the stirring apparatus had to be adapted to the existing autoclave. The particular difficulty lay in the height of the stirring apparatus. The task was solved with a fully autoclavable stirring closure integrated in the neck of the glass flask. The stirrer and stirrer cap remain in the vessel during the autoclaving process. The stirrer motor is lifted by means of a lifting device and can thus be easily released before autoclaving.
The stirring device has been qualified for clean rooms and has been used successfully in the filling of the pharmaceutical company since 2011.
