A range of compliance filter sets can be used to quickly and easily check the compliance of Lovibond® instruments with respect to the main colour scales. Each filter set/single filter consists of coloured glass(es) representing a colour spectrum of the scale in question, mounted in holders suitable for the instrument in use. These are supplied with a certificate of conformity stating the actual values for each filter. Conformity filters are supplied in sets as it is good practice in conformity testing that users should test each side of the measurement range and ideally also in the centre. However, if required, individual conformity filters are also available under the category "single filters (certified)".

Conformity filters are assigned a nominal value and the company always tries to match this value as closely as possible. Occasionally, due to the individual process of glass production, it may not be possible to hit the required values exactly. The values achieved and the expected performance tolerances are of course always noted.
