The Lovibond ® FAC Comparator 3000 is a 3-field instrument for the visual determination of the FAC colour number of samples by direct comparison in the Comparator 3000 with coloured glass standards. The FAC colour standards that make up the scale are arranged in two AF 229 disc pairs as follows. Disc position Colour standards

4/32A left 1, 5, 9, 11A, 11B, 11C, 13, 17, 21

4/32B right 3, 7, 11, 11A, 11B, 11C, 15, 19, 23

4/32C left 25, 29, 33, 37, 41, 45

4/32D right 27, 31, 35, 39, 43

In a three-part field of view, the sample and two successive glasses of the colour scale are viewed simultaneously, making it easier to find the optimal matching colour. For quick colour grading with predefined colour limits, the glasses can be arranged to the two adjacent colours, making it easy to see if the sample is within the tolerance range.
